This new generation of drop sorting equipment combines laser capabilities to more efficiently detect foreign objects and camera capabilities to sort products according to discoloration and shape during drop. The unique BSI (Biometric Signature Identification) technology, developed in-house, detects the biological characteristics of the material. The unit uses TOMRA’s patented Fluo™ technology to detect the slightest chlorophyll color difference and sort good products from those to be removed. Other available technologies include SWIR, which detects contrasts between moisture-based products and other materials; Advanced Foreign Material Detector™; and Detox™, which detects aflatoxins.
