Plate fin heaters have a larger fin area than elofin heaters, which results in fewer tubes, making them compact, lightweight, and inexpensive. Currently, they are in greater demand than elophine heaters. Plate fin heaters, like elophine heaters, are mainly used for heating air (gas) and are incorporated in air conditioners, drying facilities, and drying equipment. The structure consists of a tube (heat-transfer tube) with a coil element made by pressing (press-fitting) thin sheets of various metals into the tube, which is welded to a tube bundle (header) and installed in a steel plate duct-type casing.

Features

Plate fin heaters are designed to heat air or gas by passing steam through the heat transfer tube and air or gas through the outer casing side of the tube. They are used in drying lines and heating processes in factories and are generally called steam coils. Think of it as a large and durable version of a residential air conditioner for industrial use.

Plate fin heaters are used in production processes in a wide range of industries. In powder and granule drying (spray drying), there are meticulous drying processes for particle size, moisture content, particle shape, and density in drying and granulation. The heat source is steam or heat-transfer oil, which is connected to a blower and duct to heat the air.

Airtight duct type, large air volume type

Used for coating equipment, workshop heating, wind tunnel testing equipment, etc. that require high airflow.

Airtight duct type, low air volume type

When the supply steam pressure is low and a high temperature rise is required, a large heat-transfer area is needed, so several plate fin heaters are connected to ensure an area that meets the capacity.

Non-airtight structure Installed inside air conditioner

Built-in air conditioners for factories and industrial facilities. Air is heated using low-pressure steam and hot water.
