Plate fin heaters have a larger fin area than elofin heaters, which results in fewer tubes, making them compact, lightweight, and inexpensive. Currently, they are in greater demand than elophine heaters. Plate fin heaters, like elophine heaters, are mainly used for heating air (gas) and are incorporated in air conditioners, drying facilities, and drying equipment. The structure consists of a tube (heat-transfer tube) with a coil element made by pressing (press-fitting) thin sheets of various metals into the tube, which is welded to a tube bundle (header) and installed in a steel plate duct-type casing.

Features
Plate fin heaters are designed to heat air or gas by passing steam through the heat transfer tube and air or gas through the outer casing side of the tube. They are used in drying lines and heating processes in factories and are generally called steam coils. Think of it as a large and durable version of a residential air conditioner for industrial use.

When the supply steam pressure is low and a high temperature rise is required, a large heat-transfer area is needed, so several plate fin heaters are connected to ensure an area that meets the capacity.

It can be called a new generation Elofin heater that solves the problem of heaters using aluminum Elofin tubes, which have durability problems. When employed in a circulating drying oven (dryer), the heat transfer area can be reduced to a maximum of about 1/2 that of an elo- fin type. In other words, if two Elofin heaters are required up to now, only one can satisfy the capacity!
