The Semios Group: Driving Digital Agriculture with New Leadership and Global Innovation

The Semios Group, founded in 2010 and headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, is a global leader in agricultural technology, delivering digital solutions that help growers, agronomists, and agricultural retailers manage over 100 million acres across five countries. The company has pioneered technologies that combine advanced data analytics, IoT-enabled monitoring, and precision agriculture tools to address the most pressing challenges in farming today.
Semios is best known for introducing variable-rate pheromone-based mating disruption in orchards, a breakthrough that significantly reduced pesticide dependence while boosting crop protection. Over the years, its portfolio has expanded to encompass water management, frost control, farm automation, and one of the industry’s most advanced farm management information systems (FMIS). Its platform integrates real-time data from sensors, satellites, and predictive models, empowering growers to make smarter decisions that improve sustainability and profitability. The group also operates trusted brands such as Agworld, Altrac, and Greenbook, extending its reach across the agricultural value chain.
In September 2025, Semios announced the appointment of Amie Thesingh as Chief Executive Officer, marking the beginning of a new era of growth and innovation. Thesingh brings extensive leadership experience from global agribusinesses including Wilbur-Ellis and Cargill, where she spearheaded digital agronomy tools, sustainability initiatives, and large-scale enterprise transformations. Her grower-first perspective, combined with expertise in technology-driven solutions and international operations, positions her to advance Semios’ mission of delivering independent, scalable, and innovative tools for growers worldwide.
Chairman of the Board Mick Sawka emphasized that Thesingh’s appointment underscores the company’s commitment to operational excellence, strategy, and long-term leadership in digital agriculture. Recognized in the Global Cleantech 100 and Thrive Top 50, Semios continues to push the boundaries of agricultural technology, enabling the next generation of sustainable farming practices and supporting food security at a global scale.

Tanmiah Food Company: Expanding Capacity to Strengthen Food Security and Sustainability in Saudi Arabia

Tanmiah Food Company, established in 1962 and publicly listed on the Saudi stock exchange, is one of the Middle East’s leading providers of fresh poultry, processed proteins, animal feed, health products, and food service operations. With a vertically integrated model spanning farms, hatcheries, feed mills, and processing plants, Tanmiah serves customers across Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, and Kuwait, supplying both wholesale and retail markets as well as major international quick service restaurant chains.
In September 2025, Tanmiah inaugurated two state-of-the-art facilities in Saudi Arabia’s central region: the Majmaa 2 poultry processing plant and the Dahna automated feed mill. These investments mark a significant milestone in the company’s drive to enhance operational efficiency, increase production capacity, and support the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 objectives for food security and agricultural self-sufficiency. Majmaa 2 is the most advanced facility of its kind in the region, featuring cutting-edge processing lines capable of handling larger birds, advanced wastewater treatment systems recycling more than 6,000 cubic meters daily, and plans for renewable energy integration. The site also includes an innovation hub producing Tanmiah’s award-winning value-added products, such as the Taste Secrets line, recently honored with a 3-Star Superior Taste Award 2025 in Brussels.
Complementing this, the Dahna feed mill—currently in trial production—has a capacity of 40 metric tons per hour and features automated production lines, strict biosecurity measures, and premium-quality output designed to optimize poultry operations. Both facilities reinforce Tanmiah’s role as the only approved local poultry supplier to global QSR leaders like McDonald’s Saudi Arabia.
Sustainability remains central to Tanmiah’s growth strategy. Through its “One Million Trees” initiative, the company has already planted over 500,000 trees, with Majmaa 2 adding another 150,000, collectively expected to eliminate 243,000 metric tons of CO₂ emissions and recycle billions of liters of wastewater.
By investing over SAR 1.5 billion domestically and channeling foreign direct investment into the agri-food sector, Tanmiah is positioning itself as a global benchmark for halal, sustainable, and innovative protein production—advancing both food security and environmental stewardship for the future.
